Study of Cyclodextrin Zinc( Ⅱ) Fluorescent Reagent Used in Water Analysis

Article Abstract: A new water-soluble fluorescent reagent HQAS modified /3-CD(HQAS-1-CD) has been synthesized. The reagent could form a complex with zinc ion to cause its fluorescence enhancing. Several metal ions, such as Na^+, K^ +, Ca^2+, Mg^2+, Mn^2+ , Fe^2+ and Co^2+, show little interference to the fluorescence response to Zn^2+. A new spectrofluorimetric method for the determination of trace zinc using this reagent was developed. The linear range is from 0 to 13ug/L and the detection limit is 0.57ug/L. The method was used to determine trace zinc in mineral water sample with satisfactory results.
